Yes. Advanced filmmaking, animation, or technical experience is not required. However, participants should be ready to follow instructions, practise the workflow, and complete guided tasks during and after the live sessions.
The free masterclass introduces the BYD Studios AI filmmaking process. The paid Weekend Lab focuses on practical implementation, guided exercises, production planning, learning resources, and structured support.
The Founding Cohort sessions will hold live online on Saturday, 8 August and Sunday, 9 August 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM WAT each day.
You can join using a smartphone, computer, or both. A computer may provide a more convenient production experience, but participants can still follow the core lessons with a capable smartphone.
The Lab will help you build the production foundation, structured workflow, scene plan, animation approach, and editing direction for a short AI film project. Some implementation tasks may continue independently after each session.
After successful payment through Selar, you will be redirected to the private student-onboarding page. Complete the form using the email entered during payment so BYD Academy can confirm your enrolment and issue your programme access information.
Yes. The programme is live online and open to international participants. Selar supports available international payment currencies, while the programme schedule is stated in West Africa Time.
